ML + Hardware Engineer
For engineers who want AI running on the board, not just the laptop.
About this role
Most people who can train a model cannot get it running on a board, and most people comfortable with a soldering iron have not trained one. The people who can do both are rare, and on a drone they are the ones who make the difference — because the model has to run on the aircraft, inside the power and weight budget, not in a datacentre.
You will sit between the two: wiring up sensors and microcontrollers, getting vision and data processing working on the hardware, and debugging the failures that only show up once something is physically moving. A good part of the job is testing and prototyping, which means a lot of things will not work the first time.
The hardware does not behave like the datasheet. Calibration, drift and noise are the job, not an annoyance on the way to the job.
Requirements
- Strong fundamentals in electronics / electrical / embedded systems
- Understanding of circuits, sensors and microcontrollers
- Hands-on mindset with testing, debugging and prototyping
- Basic programming knowledge (Python preferred)
- Understanding of ML concepts (Computer Vision / data processing)
- Genuine interest in AI + hardware integration
Bonus — good to have
- Experience with drones / robotics / IoT
- Arduino / Raspberry Pi experience
- Hardware projects or hackathons
What you will build
- Drone hardware systems and integrations
- AI + hardware integration for real-world applications
What you will walk away with
- Getting a model off the laptop and onto a board that flies
- Sensor integration, calibration and the failures they cause
- Debugging a system where software and physics are both suspects
Why Join BeRAM Drones?
Small team, real ownership, and products that fly.
Work directly with founders
No layers, no ticket queue. You sit with the people making the calls and your input lands the same week.
Build real drone-tech products
UTMS, drone delivery systems and AI pipelines that ship — not throwaway training exercises.
Path to a long-term role
Interns who deliver get extended, and the strongest get offered full-time positions on the core team.
Certificate + LOR
On completion you get a certificate and a Letter of Recommendation that describes what you actually built.
Fast-paced culture
Ideas go from whiteboard to prototype in days. If you like moving fast, you will feel at home.
Inside an incubator
Based at RCOEM TBI, Nagpur — surrounded by founders, labs and mentors you can actually walk over to.
