ML Developer - Model Training & AI Systems

For engineers passionate about the intelligence behind drone technology.

About this role

Drone problems are unusually good ML problems. The camera is moving, the lighting changes every few seconds, the compute budget is whatever fits on the aircraft, and the answer is needed now rather than in a batch job overnight. A model that scores well on a clean benchmark can still be useless in the air.

You will work on computer vision, prediction and optimisation problems for real drone use cases — building the data pipelines first, because that is where most of the time actually goes, then training, evaluating and getting models into the system where they are used. Integration is part of the job, not somebody else's.

If your experience so far is notebooks and public datasets, that is fine. Be ready for the gap between that and data you have to collect and clean yourself — closing it is most of what you will learn.

Tech stack you will work with
PythonNumPyPandasScikit-learnTensorFlowPyTorchOpenCV
What you will work on
  • Model training for drone use cases (CV / prediction / optimisation)
  • Data preprocessing, cleaning and pipeline building
  • Designing and improving ML models
  • Integrating ML models into real-world systems
Requirements
  • Strong fundamentals in Python
  • Understanding of ML concepts (supervised / unsupervised learning)
  • Experience with NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn
  • Basic knowledge of TensorFlow / PyTorch
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Bonus — good to have
  • Computer Vision experience (OpenCV, CNNs)
  • Model deployment (APIs / edge devices)
  • Real-world ML project experience
What you will build
  • AI systems for drone intelligence & automation
  • Scalable ML pipelines
  • Production-level ML features
What you will walk away with
  • ML on messy data you collected, not a curated benchmark
  • Building the pipeline, not just the model
  • What breaks when a model has to run under real constraints

Why Join BeRAM Drones?

Small team, real ownership, and products that fly.

Work directly with founders

No layers, no ticket queue. You sit with the people making the calls and your input lands the same week.

Build real drone-tech products

UTMS, drone delivery systems and AI pipelines that ship — not throwaway training exercises.

Path to a long-term role

Interns who deliver get extended, and the strongest get offered full-time positions on the core team.

Certificate + LOR

On completion you get a certificate and a Letter of Recommendation that describes what you actually built.

Fast-paced culture

Ideas go from whiteboard to prototype in days. If you like moving fast, you will feel at home.

Inside an incubator

Based at RCOEM TBI, Nagpur — surrounded by founders, labs and mentors you can actually walk over to.
