08 June 2026,“Mexico:“Orbia Netafim has strengthened its presence in the Americas with the inauguration of a major new manufacturing facility in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, aimed at meeting rising demand for precision irrigation solutions and improving service delivery to farmers across North and Central America.

The new plant, spanning 30,000 square metres, represents a significant expansion of Orbia Netafim’s global production network and is set to become one of the company’s largest manufacturing facilities worldwide. The site is the company’s third production facility in Mexico and its 21st manufacturing plant globally.

The investment comes at a time when growers across the Americas are increasingly adopting precision irrigation technologies to address mounting challenges related to water scarcity, rising production costs and the need to improve on-farm productivity.

According to the company, the Hermosillo facility will primarily manufacture thin-wall drip irrigation solutions, with plans to add dedicated heavy-wall dripline production in the future. The plant incorporates advanced automation systems designed to ensure consistent product quality, operational efficiency and manufacturing reliability while supporting responsible production practices.

By bringing production closer to key agricultural markets, Orbia Netafim expects to shorten delivery times, improve supply responsiveness and enhance collaboration with farmers and channel partners throughout the growing season.

The new facility further strengthens the company’s North American manufacturing footprint, joining existing operations in Reynosa, Mexico, and Fresno, California, along with recycling facilities in California and Culiac’n, Mexico. Together, these facilities create a more resilient and responsive regional manufacturing network capable of supporting the evolving needs of agricultural producers.
