At the time, the country remained heavily reliant on imported drone systems, while most domestic manufacturers were focused on developing larger UAVs for logistics, surveillance, and agricultural applications.
Recognising this gap, engineering students Arth Chowdhary, Devyant, and Oshi set out to develop homegrown defence technology aligned with the government's Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.
Today, Inside FPV has established itself as one of India's pioneering defence technology startups focused on the development of military-grade FPV (First-Person View) and Kamikaze drone systems for frontline combat operations.
"We saw that most of the industry was focused on logistics, surveillance, and agricultural drones, but nobody was working on FPV or Kamikaze drones. The drones we build are used like bullets. They are designed to neutralize enemy systems and provide a tactical advantage on the battlefield,“Arth Chowdhary tells Startup Pedia in an exclusive interview.
Arth, a mechanical engineer with a passion for aerospace, had previously worked on VTOL and UAV structural engineering projects alongside organisations such as DRDO, BSF, and the Maritime Institute, before completing an executive program at ISB Hyderabad.
Devyant, a competitive drone racer ranked in Asia, contributed his experience from autonomous UAV projects with Bangalore Airport, ONGC, and DRDO, and was even invited by ISRO to showcase his drones.
